These vivid red poppies brighten a wall and draw the viewer in to have a closer look and then stand back and take in the whole picture. The background was painted with wet-in-wet water colour and some salt to disperse the paint. The salt creates a bit of magic. Some small red pieces of fabric have been pasted into the painting to add another dimension of texture.
"Poppy Fields" at the Fearless Fabric Exhibition was awarded the People's Choice Prize.
This print is printed on William Turner 310gsm print version, textured watercolour paper with archival inks, to look and feel like a watercolour painting. No wonder I have so many people ask me if the print is an original painting!
A-4 and A-3 sized prints of "Poppy Fields" are a second limited edition print run of 500, numbered, titled and signed by me, the artist.
The A-2 and A-1 sizes of "Poppy Fields" are a first Limited Edition print run of 100 each, numbered, titled and signed by me, the artist. There will be no more print runs of these sizes.
