…..and thank you for visiting Pj Paintings.
My name is Patricia (Pj) Hopwood-Wade. I was born in Belgium, raised in Canada and now live in Hobart with beautiful views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington acting as both an anchor and an inspiration. Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania, Australia.
I have been studying and painting watercolours since 2001. I was fortunate to have Terrence Gough AOM, a well known Tasmanian artist, as my teacher and mentor. I mainly work in the watercolour medium but I am keen to venture into other media when I have a bit more time.
I became a member of the Tasmanian Art Society in 2008 and started exhibiting my work almost immediately, selling a number of paintings into private collections. I have received five People’s Choice awards, one Highly Commended award and was a finalist in the national Five Mile Press Illustration Competition.
My first solo exhibition was called Medley of Colour (2010) and was shown at the Lady Franklin Gallery, Lenah Valley – the home of the Tasmanian Art Society.
I have participated in a number of community exhibitions in Tasmania and have enjoyed great success with exhibitions at Taste of Asia and Nourish Cafe, both in Hobart.
I hope you enjoy my art and please contact me if you would like to give feedback or comments, or to order or purchase work.
